History of The Black Women's Task Force


The Beginning:

 The Black Women's Task Force began through the Women's Commission in 1975.  

 Mission Statement:

"Educate and empower women through support and networking
for equality and success in the Tucson Community.
"

Programs:

·         The Black Women's Task Force Scholarships

  • Black College Tour  

  • Student School trip to Africa

  • Student educational trip to South America

  • Student Washington DC Teen Leadership Conferences

  • Teen Workshops

  • Teen Scholarships to the BWTF

  • Provided computers for over 100 students in the TUSD system

  • Domestic Violence Workshops

  • Holiday Food Baskets

  • Day of Caring participants

  • Volunteers for the AZ Women's Conference  

Conferences: Our conferences are the hallmark of The Black Women’s Task Force.  Over the years we have hosted top speakers and covered a range of topics that affect women and the quality of their lives.
